Tilt signs in to Lichess, reads each game the moment it ends, and tells you how well you are actually playing, and whether to play another.
Tap Connect Lichess. Lichess's own sign-in page opens; the app never sees your password. Your rated games are read the first time, and from then on each game arrives as it finishes while the app is open.
Play on chess.com? Tap I play on chess.com and type the username. That reads the same public games anyone could look at, with no account and no password. Both can be on at once.
If you would rather look before you sign in to anything, tap Show me what it looks like. That uses a sample that ships inside the app, with every player's identity covered over.
Because there are. On one or two games, how strongly you played is indistinguishable from whether you happened to win, so Tilt will not dress the scoreline up as a measurement. Play a few games in a session and it gives a reading, with the range it could really be.
Tilt reads rated games only, on both Lichess and chess.com. A casual game still shows as "playing now" while it is on, and then nothing more happens with it.
The Elo formula on the rating gap gives an expected score, where a win counts one and a draw a half. Taking half your draw rate back out leaves the chance of a win. Every game shows its working: tap how the chances are worked out under the game list.
No, and it never will. Tilt reads a game after it finishes. While a game is in progress the app shows who you are playing and nothing else, and there is no engine output of any kind until it is over.
Moments only appears once there are moments to put in it. They come from the chess engine working through your games on your phone, which takes a while after you first connect.
Yes. Tilt keeps the games it has read, so it opens and works on a plane. It needs the network only to hear about games you have played since it last looked.
The rating Tilt shows for a session is how strongly you played those games, worked out from their results and the opponents' ratings, not your published rating. On a short session the two can be far apart, and the app says so.
